Sedrani, Al Hefiti and Laily add more feathers to FCC crown

Fujairah News; Ammar Sedrani and Ahmed Rashid Al Hefiti, of Fujairah Chess and Culture Club (FCCC), placed first and second respectively in the U14 of the 1st Abu Dhabi Classic Chess, organized by Abu Dhabi Chess and Culture Club from February 2 to 4, 2017.
Mohamed Saeed Laily won the first place in the U12 category.
The championship have seen the participation of 128 male and female players representing UAE, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, India, Russia, Iran, UAS and Australia.
Abd Allah Al Barakt, FCC Chairman, said these are very encouraging and promising achievements to begin 2017 with. “They make us look forward to add more feathers to Fujairah’s chess crown during this year,” he added. “Let me thank here our young and aspirant players who proved their metals and demonstrated that FCC has a very strong and sound strategy for the future,” he said.
Al Barakt dedicated these achievements to H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah and to H,H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Fujairah Crown Prince, for the unlimited support and encouragement they provide to FCC. “I also thank Sheikh Salih bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of Fujairah Industry and Economy Department, for his close follow up and directives that made these achievements attainable,” he said.
