Fujairah Chamber, Khalifa Fund discuss strategic partnership to support small projects

FUJAIRAH; Khalifa Khamis Mattar Al Kaabi, Board Chairman of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has stressed his organisation’s willingness to support and harness potential of small projects that make important contributions to the national economy, as well as to encouraging youth to engage in private business.
He made this statement during a meeting with Abdullah Al Darmaki, Chief Executive Officer of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development; Ibrahim Ahmed Al Mansouri, Chief Operations Officer at the Khalifa Fund; and in presence of chamber board members and Khaled Mohamed Al Jassem, General Manager of Fujairah Chamber, and Yousuf Al Marshoodi, Fujairah Branch Director of the Khalifa Fund.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to support the strategic partnership between the Fujairah Chamber and the Khalifa Fund, while highlighting the importance of constant communication between the relevant authorities to achieve the desired goals of developing small projects and overcoming obstacles and challenges.
According to Fujairah Chamber’s representative, it is currently implementing the start-up "Bedaya" programme to support small projects. It also sends a group of young people every year to attend the Canton Exhibition in China, considered as one of the world’s largest exhibitions. It also organises specialised workshops for youth and entrepreneurs, on making feasibility studies for small projects and ways to manage and market business ideas while maintaining quality and competitiveness.
According to Khaled Al Jassem, the chamber provides conditional funding for enrolled projects under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Khalifa Fund. Under this MoU, enrolled projects can obtain benefits such as exemptions for issuance coverage, renewal fees and other charges for certification under Resolution Number 9 (2011) by the Fujairah Ruler, to assist the development of projects with the Khalifa Fund. In addition to insurance exemptions, guarantees that relate to tendering for projects are also implemented by the chamber.

OKI strengthens ties at Annual Distributor Conference Event highlights strong business opportunities and honors leading distributors This year OKI Middle East, India and Africa held their Annual Distributor’s Conference in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. The conference was attended by delegates from over 15 countries across the region and supported by Dave Collinson, Lee Webster and Javier Lopez from OKI Europe. The conference focused on developing relationships with partners, raising awareness of business opportunities, and discussions of the company's product road map. A lot of effort was made to ensure that all parties fully understood where each product could be placed in the business market and the corresponding verticals and how competitive they are in the differing segments. John Ross, General Manager of OKI Middle East, India and Africa, said, “We have ambitious growth plans for the coming years and wanted to ensure that our distributors were clear about OKI’s strategy and brand values. It was an ideal opportunity to consolidate our message and to show our commitment and support for the valuable work that they do.” OKI aims to continue empowering its partners with the required tools, training and support to help them improve the company's reach within the region. These ties between partners and OKI were further strengthened with much “informal” conversation taking place whilst touring the beautiful Prague Castle and enjoying the delicious Czech cuisine. The conference concluded with the annual awards being given to the distributors as follows: Dot Matrix Distributor of the Year – Jawad Sultan of Oman Mono NIP Distributor of the Year – MABCO of Jordan Colour NIP Distributor of the Year – Al Eqtessad of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Outstanding Achievement Award – Avantech of Libya Distributor of the Year – Qatar Computer Services of Qatar
